Adding devices into ARMT

VPN Gateway devices are added, configured, and deleted from the AT&T Service Manager. The ARMT tool receives an update from Service Manager twice per day with a list of VPN Gateway devices. This list is then synced with the list of VPN Gateway devices currently in ARMT. If any new devices are found in the Service Manager file, they are added in ARMT, and their Service Manager configuration settings are imported. If a VPN Gateway device is not found in the Service Manager file, but it exists in ARMT, then that device is removed from ARMT.

Adding Other Devices

Note: Only authorized AT&T personnel can perform this function. If you need additional devices imported into ARMT, please contact your AT&T representative.

Cellular devices, such as 6300-CX and 6310-DX, and Legacy Cellular devices such as the 6200-FX Cellular Extender device, are supported with ARMT, but are not added via the AT&T Service Manager. These devices can be added into ARMT by authorized users. Contact your ARMT site administrator if you do not have permission to add devices.

Creating a CSV file for import

To import a CSV file to add devices, the file must contain details for the new devices in a specific format. That format is defined in the Template CSV.

  1. Click Template CSV.

The template file is downloaded.

  1. Open the template file in a CSV editor such as Excel.
  2. Add device information as indicated in the file.
    • The MAC address, serial number, and Organization must be included in the file to add a new device. All other fields are optional.
    • If you are specifying a value in the config_name column, the value must correspond to an existing configuration profile.

IMPORTANT: Keep the first line of the CSV file exactly as is. These column headers are required for the device importer to work properly. If the column headers are deleted, then the devices will not be imported.

  1. Save the CSV file under a new name.
