Cellular as Primary

Additional configuration is required to use cellular data as the primary means of network access.

  1. Open your web browser.
  2. Navigate to: attvpngateway.att.com.
  3. Authenticate if required.
  4. Click on the Control Panel navigation icon.
  5. Select the entry for Network Settings to display its sub-menu, and choose WAN IPv4 Settings.
  6. Click Cancel to exit the DHCP settings screen.
  7. Determine what type of Cellular connection best fits the VPN Gateway’s cellular data plan: Always-On (more data) or User Controllable (less data).
  8. Click OK to proceed.
  9. Select the modem type from the corresponding pull-down menu.

NOTE: If using the embedded cellular radio and an active SIM card, select “Internal Cellular Modem.”

  1. Enter the Access Point Name (APN) if known.
  2. Leave the AT strings field blank unless otherwise instructed.
  3. Click the Next button to continue.
  4. Enter the phone number associated with the SIM card.
  5. Enable auto-configured dial authentication unless otherwise instructed.
  6. If using Dial as Primary Connection, select a method from the pull-down menu. This field is NOT displayed for failover configuration.
  7. Click OK to complete setup.

NOTE: Contact your network administrator if the configuration outlined above does not successfully join the VPN Gateway to the AT&T cellular network.
