This feature was added so that customers could monitor the utilization of the broadband link to plan for potential upgrades before a negative impact was felt. This feature is enabled via the AT&T Administration Server. How often statistics about the broadband interface are collected is configurable. After the specified number of samples (also configurable) are collected, an average is calculated from those samples. After 12 averages are taken, an SNMP trap is sent if the VPN Gateway is configured to do so. The averages are also viewable on the Advanced Information page of the VPN Gateway web interface.
