When configured for Dial or Cellular Backup, establishment of the connection can be controlled through a variety of settings. These options are similar to those described for Dial Primary mode. Time of Day Window processing  also takes precedence over other dial automation settings.

The VPN Gateway sends status records to the AT&T reporting server (FOCUS) for each tunnel connection attempt and disconnect. Records are also sent for each dial or cellular connection attempt and disconnect.
